How much
storage space do I get with my Web site?
You’ll receive 500 MB of storage space. This is typically enough for thousands
of pages, which will far exceed most business and personal needs.
Of course, page sizes can vary widely. And it always makes sense to use
space efficiently so your pages download quickly even if your visitors are using
low speed connections. You can always use your site’s Control Panel to see how
much space you are using.
How much
traffic can my site handle?
You’re entitled to 1 GB of traffic per month. Again, page sizes and other
factors vary; however, this is typically sufficient for approximately 20,000
page views per month. You can use the Control Panel to see how many page views
have been registered in any current month.
How many
email accounts do I get with my Web site?
As many as you like. All email accounts will use your domain name. You’re
also entitled to unlimited email aliases, forwards, autoresponders, and mailing
lists. Keep in mind that your email accounts will use part of your 500 MB space
allocation for storage.
How do
I control my site, or get current information and statistics about it?
Use your Web-based Control Panel. Go here

then enter the user name and password you established when you signed up for
your account. If you no longer have your password, email us at support@netcartdesigns.com.
What’s
a domain, and what do I do if I don’t have one?
The term “domain” has several meanings, but for our purposes, it’s a set
of internet addresses you can visit, own, and manage together; for example,
www.yourname.com. To get a domain name,
you must register it and pay a registration fee. Of course, you need to pick
a domain name nobody else is already using.
We can walk you through signing up for your own domain name
HERE. We charge only $19.00 per year for domain registration.
That’s far less than you’d pay most leading “registrars.”
How do
I transfer my domain to you?
Go
HERE and fill out the form. Note that it may take approximately two days for the
entire Internet to recognize the change so that your site can be found from
all locations.
How quickly
can I get started? How soon can I be online?
You can start now by picking a plan

If you’re building your own site, you can be “live” as soon as you finish--often,
in well under an hour. As discussed above, it may take longer for the entire
Internet to recognize your new or transferred domain name.
If we are building your site for you, the process typically takes approximately
5 days from when we receive all images and text files, though this may vary depending on the
complexity of your site.
What can’t
I publish on my Web site (or send via my email accounts)?
See our Hosting Agreement for detailed information. (Note that the Hosting
Agreement is subject to change.) Amongst the items you may not
publish or email:

You may not send “spam” (unsolicited junk email) or permit others to do so.
·
You may not upload copyrighted MP3s, movies, digital media, software, or any
other copyrighted material, or permit others to do so.
·
You may not upload pornographic content, or permit others to do so.
How do
I get more storage or bandwidth?
Additional storage or bandwidth are available at low cost. To purchase

Do you
support Microsoft FrontPage extensions?
Our servers support Microsoft FrontPage 2002 extensions, which in turn
support sites created with most recent versions of Microsoft FrontPage.
What platforms
do you run on?
To maximize reliability and reduce costs, all NETCART servers run on Unix
platforms utilizing current Apache Web server software. Our Unix servers can
host virtually any content created on any platform, including virtually any
Microsoft Windows and FrontPage content. If you have any questions, please contact
us.
How do
I update my billing information?
You can do this through your Control Panel.
How do
I promote my site and register it on search engines?
At no extra charge, we provide powerful Control Panel tools for both site
registration and promotion.

How do
I edit or update my site, or add new pages?
Log in to the Control Panel. Then follow these steps:
Click on the "Websites" tab, select "Sites & Emails" in the drop down box, then click on the folder image
under "Tools" on the right side of the panel to access your FTP program. As an alternative, you may use your own
Client Side FTP Program by entering the userid and password assigned to you in your Netcart Designs sign-up email.

Can I use
my site for commercial purposes?
Yes. However, many of our customers decide that NETCART Managed Site Service
or NETCART Managed E-Commerce Service is more efficient and appropriate for
their purposes.

How do
I edit or update my site, or add new pages?
Email us the content you wish to add or change, and clear, specific directions
for doing so. Please make sure to include your site address. Our email address
for content changes is: content@netcartdesigns.com.
Documents should be in Word or Word-compatible (.DOC or .RTF) or HTML
(.HTML or .HTM) format. We can accept Microsoft Excel workbooks containing (for
example) product information for managed commerce sites. Other formats may also
be acceptable; please contact us to check. Graphics should be in JPG or GIF
format.
What is
a merchant account?
A merchant account is a central bank account which brings together payments
from multiple sources -- for instance, credit cards, debit cards, e-checks,
and other payment processors. You need a merchant account to process credit
card transactions online.
Can I use
my existing merchant account for my E-Commerce site?
Possibly. Check with your account provider. Its charges and eligibility
rules may be different for online transactions, and you may be required to open
a separate account.
